Hannstar Display(Taiwan) has developed a display using “Mini LED” backlight.
Hannstar’s Mini LED technology has the following four elements.
【１】Improved Wide Angle
Adopted “Light Extraction Structure” and “Surface CSP Structure” and “Radiation Pattern of better Uniformity”, improved the Light Angle from 130 ~ 140 degree to 150 ~160 degree.

【２】Eye safety
By shifting the peak 450nm to 460nm to reduce hazardous blue light with wavelengths under 430nm.
【３】High performance（Blue COB + QD）
By using the “Mini LED” with a structure in which a “Blue LED chip” is bonding (COB) to a substrate and a QD (Quantum Dot Film) is attached on top of it, it is possible to provide the backlight with a wider color gamut.
【４】Local Dimming
By using “Local Dimming” technology, contrast performance is possible to reach the level as “OLED” display.
“Mini LED” technologies are able to expand Hannstar’s products such as Wearable, Mobile, Tablet, Notebook PC, and Automotive business.
