Gpixel expands line scan offering with GL3516, a high-speed 16K imager CMOS Image Sensor

2023.06.05

Release

April 28th, 2023-Gpixel which Kanematsu Futuretech Solutions (KFT) is the distributor in Japan, announces GL3516, a cost-effective 16K resolution line scan CMOS image sensor with 3.5 um pixels, resulting in a 57.3 mm image diagonal, and a 120 kHz line rate.

GL3516 is pin and footprint compatible with Gpixel’s existing GL7008 8K line scan sensor and its features make it ideal for industrial inspection applications requiring high-speed scanning and 16K resolution, including lithium battery testing, flat panel inspection, PCB inspection, label inspection, and railway inspection.

GL3516 utilizes a 3.5 µm square pixel achieving a peak QE of 57.1%, a full well capacity of 5.6 ke and read noise of 8.2 e, providing a dynamic range of 56.6 dB. Optical black pixel-scan be used for off-chip image correction, improving linearity, non-uniformities and temperature drift. The sensor’s 10-bit pixel data is output via 25, 13, 7 or 4 Sub-LVDS channels each running at 120 kHz in single-line mode or 60 kHz in dual-line mode.

GL3516 is offered in both color and monochrome versions and supports single and with exposure time adjustment for on-chip color balancing or other similar adjustments.

The power consumption of GL3516 is less than 1.9 W at maximum frame rate. GL3516 uses a heat-dissipating chip on board (COB) package with a copper-tungsten heat sink, for optimal heat dissipation during high-speed scanning.

GL3516 engineering samples and evaluation boards can be ordered today. For more information, please visit www.gpixel.com or Contact Us.
